The Cherry Blossom Festival may be over, but the view doesn't have to be! You can grow your very own Yoshino Cherry Tree in your back yard. The Cherry Blossom Festival is selling the trees for the discounted price of $10. You can get yours at the festival headquarters on 794 cherry street. They're open from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.

Commission working to get crosswalks for Bibb schools

A crossing guard was hit by car Thursday morning near Ingram Pye Elementary School. The driver, told Bibb deputies the sun blinded him and didn't see the crossing guard. Witnesses say the driver was going no more than ten miles an hour. The crossing guard was taken to Navicent Health with leg and knee pain.

Laurens Co. homeowner cleans up after storm

Committee approves funding for Bibb County jail cameras, software

The Bibb County jail could soon have new cameras. Macon-Bibb commissioners approved the money for the cameras in a committee meeting Tuesday morning. It will cost $654, 310 which will be funded by the 2017 Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax (SPLOST) bond funds. The jail needs new cameras and software. In fact, some areas don't even have cameras.

Barnesville artist creates Macon-inspired chalk art

Several artists, including one from Georgia, are putting sidewalk chalk to good use. Andrew Patrick Henry from Barnesville was in town to paint incredibly detailed murals around downtown Macon. He had help from other artists from across the country.
