Organizers kick off Georgia National Fair with opening ceremony

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia national fair is in full effect. On Thursday evening the grounds were buzzing with the excitement of people from all over.

“We just finished up the 28th annual Georgia National Fair opening ceremony’s right here in Reeves Arena so we have a lot going on today a lot of things that have changed over the years,” said Marketing Director Keaton Walker.

Hard work all year long came full circle with new rides, food, and new acts.

“Funnel cake, definitely funnel cake and the wild claw is definitely my favorite ride,” said Steven Bryson. “We’re standing right here in front of Nerveless Knocks they’re one of our new entertainment acts that have moved in,” Walker added.

One thing that hasn’t changed–parking.

“It’s free parking every everyday all day. So, whether you have a small car or a bus you want to be able to enjoy yourself and park here for free,” said Walker.
