Rescue mission to host baby shower

The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia is collecting baby items for a baby shower they're hosting on Friday. The shower is in honor of four women who have experienced domestic violence.

IHOP celebrates National Pancake Day

"We just had a whole eighteen wheel of buttermilk come in," said IHOP manager, Frank Marrero. The International House of Pancakes (IHOP) on Tom Hill Boulevard in Macon needs all of that buttermilk to celebrate National Pancake Day. Like many IHOPs across the nation, they gave free stacks of pancakes to customers in exchange for donations that will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

Accident temporarily closes College Street

College Street, between Forsyth Street and Appleton Avenue, is temporarily closed after a car struck a utility pole. Bibb County Sheriff's deputies responded to the accident around 3:00 PM.

Marching for unity

Hundreds of people are expected to march through Macon on Saturday in honor of Macon Unity Day. The community will stand against discrimination and will voice concerns to Macon-Bibb county leaders.

"Eggs & Issues" over 2018 SPLOST

A new swim complex, fire stations and intersection upgrades were hot topics over hot breakfast at Houston County's Eggs & Issues meeting Thursday morning. Leaders discussed the plans for the 2018 Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax (SPLOST). Polls opened for early voting on Monday and SPLOST is on the ballot.
