Braves hire Chipper Jones as “special assistant”

ATLANTA (41NBC/WMGT) – The Atlanta Braves announced Thursday they’ve hired Chipper Jones as a special assistant to baseball operations.

Jones will report to John Hart, president of baseball operations, and to general manager John Coppolella.

Jones returns to the club just three years after his retirement. He will attend spring training as an instructor and will primarily focus on helping Braves hitters during the regular season. He will also help with amateur scouting leading up to the June draft.
