Fort Valley police: 14-year-old charged in 6 vehicle break-ins
Fort Valley police say a 14-year-old faces multiple charges after officers tracked him with a K-9 during a series of vehicle break-ins.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 14-year-old is facing charges after Fort Valley police say he broke into multiple vehicles on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Spruce Street.
According to a news release from Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores, officers patrolling the area on Tuesday spotted shattered glass from several vehicles. Investigators followed a trail of stolen property, set up a perimeter and saw a male running from the area.

The department’s K-9 tracked the suspect, leading officers to make the arrest. Flores said the investigation revealed windows of six vehicles had been shattered and personal property taken.
The teenager has been charged with six counts of entering automobiles with intent to commit theft and four counts of financial card theft. Police said the stolen items were recovered and are being returned to their owners.
“These arrests underscore our department’s commitment to addressing crimes that impact the safety and peace of mind of our residents,” Flores said. “I appreciate the diligent work of our officers in bringing this investigation to a successful outcome.”
Police reminded residents to lock their vehicles, secure valuables out of sight and report suspicious activity. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed.
