UPDATE (8/20/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says Wednesday’s chase began after deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Brookdale Avenue and tried to locate 29-year-old Louibens Noel, who had left the area.

Deputies later encountered Noel driving a commercial box truck, but he refused to stop and led officers south on I-75 through Peach and Houston counties, according to the sheriff’s office.

During the pursuit, deputies say Noel made abrupt lane changes, braked in front of law enforcement vehicles and forced other drivers to take evasive action. They say multiple attempts to use stop sticks and disable the truck were unsuccessful.

After turning around in Houston County, deputies say Noel traveled north on I-75 and maneuvered the truck toward law enforcement vehicles, forcing officers to move out of the way.

The chase ended on I-75 North in Houston County. Noel was taken into custody.
