Truex leads 392 of 400 laps, wins Coke 600
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (41NBC/WMGT) – Martin Truex Jr. led 392 of 400 laps in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to snap a winless streak that dated back to June of last year.
The driver of the No. 78 Toyota Camry for Furniture Row Racing started first and finished there, dominating the field in the annual Memorial Day Weekend race, which is NASCAR’s longest of the year.
Kevin Harvick was second and Jimmie Johnson was third. Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.
Rookie Chase Elliott from Dawsonville finished eighth, his ninth top ten in 13 races this season.
