Mercer’s Hall named Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention

MACON, Ga. (MERCER RELEASE)– Postseason awards keep rolling in for Mercer senior point guard Langston Hall, as the Atlanta native was named to the Associated Press All-America honorable mention list on Monday evening.

Hall led Mercer to a banner year that concluded with a 27-9 record in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. Other postseason distinctions that have come Hall’s way include Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, Atlantic Sun All-Conference first team honors, Atlantic Sun Tournament MVP, and an NABC All-District 3 first team appointment.

On Tuesday morning, Hall was included among 22 senior Division I players selected for competition in the Reese’s NABC Division I All-Star game, to be played on Friday at AT&T Stadium as part of the Final Four weekend festivities.

Hall led Mercer with averages of 14.6 points, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 2013-14. The campaign saw him break the A-Sun conference record for career assists and score the 1,500th point of his career.

As a senior, Hall scored 20 or more in 11 games and registered 10 or more assists on four occasions. His 201 total assists ranks 16th most nationally and is the second highest single-season total in program history.

A total of 39 players were named to AP honorable mention list, which supplements the outlet’s first, second and third team All-American selections. Hall was the only Atlantic Sun player included in the list and joined Georgia State’s R.J. Hunter as the two Peach State representatives.
