Macon-Bibb trash pickup delayed for Memorial Day

County offices, courts and some facilities will close Monday, while trash and yard waste collection shifts back one day.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon-Bibb County government offices and several public facilities will close Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

According to Macon-Bibb County Government, county offices, recreation centers and the court system will be closed May 25. Emergency services will remain operational.

The county says Convenience Center #1 at 1010 11th Street will also be closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday, May 26. Other convenience centers will continue operating on their normal schedules.

The county also announced trash and yard waste collection will run one day behind schedule during the holiday week.

Under the adjusted schedule:

  • Monday routes will be collected Tuesday
  • Tuesday routes will be collected Wednesday
  • Wednesday routes will be collected Thursday
  • Thursday routes will be collected Friday
  • Friday routes will be collected Saturday
