Macon pools, splash pads opening this weekend for summer season

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Several recreation pools and splash pads in Macon-Bibb County are opening for the summer season Saturday, according to Macon-Bibb County officials.

Pools at Frank Johnson Recreation Center, Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center and South Bibb Recreation Center will open May 23.

Officials said the pools will operate Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the summer.

Splash pads at South Bibb Recreation Center and Freedom Park will also open Saturday and follow the same schedule as the pools.

Macon-Bibb officials said the pools at Booker T. Washington Community Center and Memorial Park Recreation Center are still awaiting inspections and are expected to open later next week. Splash pads at Filmore Thomas and Daisy Park are also waiting on inspections and are expected to open next week.

Pool admission costs $1, and children must be accompanied by an adult, according to the county.
