Coroner: 78-year-old Jones County woman dies after crash on Gray Highway
Coroner Leon Jones says Cheryl Diane Reed died after a crash Thursday afternoon.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 78-year-old Jones County woman died Thursday after a two-vehicle crash on Gray Highway, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Jones identified the woman as Cheryl Diane Reed and said she’d have turned 79 on Sunday.
He says the crash happened in the 1300 block of Gray Highway around 1:39 p.m.
Jones said Reed was driving a Lexus IS 300 when she turned into the path of a small pickup truck.
According to Jones, Reed was taken to Atrium Health Navicent, where she was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m.
He says her family has been notified.
