Eastman phone store burglary leads to two arrests

Police say investigators recovered stolen iPhones and other property connected to burglaries in Eastman and Chauncey.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a burglary at an Eastman phone store and a separate burglary in Chauncey, according to the Eastman Police Department.

Eastman police say the Cricket Wireless store was burglarized Sunday morning after a window was smashed and a suspect entered the business, stealing multiple items.

Investigators say the suspect dropped property at the scene that had been stolen during a previous burglary at a business in Chauncey.

According to Eastman police, investigators used city surveillance cameras, Flock camera technology and other investigative work to make an arrest.

Police say Kevin Allen of Chauncey was arrested in connection with the Cricket Wireless burglary. Officers also recovered six iPhones that had been stolen from the Eastman store.

Allen is charged with burglary, theft by taking, criminal trespass and second-degree criminal damage to property, according to police.

Eastman police later said officers and Dodge County deputies executed a search warrant on Tuesday at an apartment at Heritage Villas in connection with the Cricket Wireless burglary investigation.

During the search, investigators recovered stolen property connected to both the Cricket Wireless burglary and the Chauncey burglary, according to police.

Police say Devin Bradley Nickens was also arrested and charged with burglary, second-degree criminal damage to property, theft by taking, criminal trespass, wearing a mask to conceal identity and possession of cocaine.

Eastman police say the investigation remains active.
