MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A second 7 Brew Coffee location is proposed for Macon.

Plans included on the September 14 draft agenda for Macon-Bibb’s Planning and Zoning Commission call for a new drive-through coffee shop at 5890 Zebulon Road.

A house is currently on the property, which is across Zebulon Road from Sonny’s BBQ. The proposed shop would also be near the recently opened Dutch Bros in front of The Lofts at Zebulon.

The Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission has two applications for the project listed separately on its draft agenda.

The first seeks to rezone about 0.84 acres from A-Agricultural to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial. A separate conditional use application asks for permission to operate a business classified by the commission as a restaurant without alcohol sales with a drive-through.

Project documents submitted by 610 Properties LLC show an approximately 771-square-foot shop with two drive-through lanes, a separate cooler and storage building, parking, a dumpster area and stormwater detention.

The plans include a commercial entrance and deceleration lane on Zebulon Road. They also include a new sidewalk, crosswalk changes and relocation of the Ashford Park neighborhood sign.

The rezoning application calls for keeping a heavily wooded buffer between the development and nearby homes and also proposes adding a small walking trail and benches within the buffer.

The business would operate from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to the conditional use application.

The application says eight employees would work at the site at one time, including workers who would take orders from customers in the drive-through lanes. It projects hiring 50 employees in total.

7 Brew’s existing Macon location is at 1667 Bass Road. There are also locations in Warner Robins and Milledgeville, and its website lists 31 locations across Georgia.

Founded in northwest Arkansas in 2017, 7 Brew says it has grown to more than 700 stands across 38 states.
