Despite the fact that this afternoon was the warmest of the week, temperatures will be plunging below freezing for the fourth time this week tonight. Lows will not only be below freezing but should drop below 30 across the board. Some spots in the northern counties may want to consider dripping their faucets as temperatures bottom out in the low to mid 20s. Wind will continue from the north-northwest at about 5-12 mph, gusting upwards of 20 mph. Overhead skies will remain clear.

Friday will be similar to Tuesday as most of Middle Georgia will fail to reach 50 degrees. Wind will generally flow from the north at 5-10 mph, gusting to about 15 mph.

Overnight skies will be clear and much like Tuesday night Middle Georgians will need to drip their faucets. Lows rolling into Saturday morning will be in the low to mid 20s across the board. A couple of locations could flirt with a record low. Wind will be out of the north at around 5 mph.

This Weekend and Beyond

High pressure will make its way into the Peach State on Saturday resulting in winds shifting from the northwest towards the southwest. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s under partly sunny skies. Overnight will still see temperatures that drop below freezing for parts of the region. Faucets will not need to be dripped, however. Sunday will be warmer courtesy of wind out of the southwest at around 5 mph. Highs will be in the mid 60s, or around average for this time of year. Clouds will likely begin to arrive Sunday evening as more warmth and moisture are expected early next week. Rain odds will climb as a result.
