Showers tonight, storms tomorrow morning

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to Middle Georgia overnight tonight and the first half of tomorrow.

The clouds moved into Middle Georgia today during the lunchtime hours and will remain through this evening and tonight. Expect conditions to remain mild as the humidity increases heading into tonight as well. Low temperatures will likely be not long after midnight, likely falling in the mid to upper 50s for most of the region. Wind will continue to be breezy as it shifts to the east-southeast at 7-15 mph, gusting over 20 mph. Showers will be possible overnight, especially after midnight and leading up to the sunrise tomorrow.

Have the rain gear ready in the morning. Thunderstorms will likely be ongoing as the sun rises Tomorrow morning. The worst of it will be during that window, however some straggling showers will remain possible heading into lunchtime. Cloudy skies will likely linger into the afternoon.

Highs should reach the upper 60s for most of the region. Wind in the morning will flow from the southwest, but after lunchtime expect a shift to the northwest that will bring in chillier air.

More clearing is expected in the evening and overnight as temperatures plunge into the low to mid 40s, or just above the average for this time of year. Wind will be rather pronounced from the northwest as it gusts upwards of 25 mph. Sustained speeds will range from 10-17 mph.

The Tropics

Tropical Depression 19 has formed in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. It is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Sara within the next day or two as it moves west. No impacts with the US are anticipated at this time.
