Warner Robins traffic accident leads to fight, shooting

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Warner Robins Police say a traffic accident Friday night led to a fight and then a shooting.

A WRPD news release says officers were dispatched to the intersection of Todd Circle and Kimberly Road around 5:30 in reference to two males fighting.

One of the males was shot before officers arrived.

Police say the preliminary investigation shows the two were involved in an accident on Watson Boulevard and then followed each other to the scene of the shooting. One of the drivers exited his vehicle to confront the other, and a fight started. One of the men was armed with a hammer. The other was armed with a gun.

The shooting victim was taken to Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center in Macon. There’s no word on his condition.

The other driver has been detained as part of the investigation.

Police are interviewing other witnesses.
