UPDATE: More men charged with murder of an 8-year-old Fort Valley boy
24-year-old Jeremy Quillan Jackson, 20-year-old Antonio Garvin and 22-year-old Kristian Jamal Wipfel, all of Macon, were arrested Friday night in Bibb County, according to Fort Valley Public Safety Director Lawrence Z. Spurgeon.
“It is our intention to arrest and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who conspired, assisted, or facilitated with any aspect of this horrible crime,” said Spurgeon.
Anderson died Tuesday morning after he was shot in the Indian Oaks Apartment in Fort Valley.
Jackson, Garvin and Wipfel were captured by Fort Valley Police detectives, Peach County Drug Enforcement Unit and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a news release.
Initially, on Friday two different men were charged.
According to the Fort Valley Department of Public Safety, murder warrants were obtained for 25-year-old Dennis Eason of Fort Valley and 21-year-old Tevin Sams of Lizella.
Eason was arrested on Tuesday and charged with terroristic threats. He was caught in Birmingham, Alabama. He is still in Birmingham awaiting extradition.
Sams was booked in the Peach County LEC.
Chief Lawrence Spurgeon said in a statement, “We are pleased that the investigation is progressing in a positive direction.”
Authorities are not releasing any other information at this time.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday at Warner Robins C.M.E. Church in Warner Robins at 1 p.m.
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The stepfather of a Fort Valley boy who was murdered this week was arrested on drug and gun charges.
22-year-old Dejad Williams was arrested Thursday evening. His stepson, 8-year-old Jai’mel Anderson, died Tuesday morning after he was shot several times inside an apartment.
This arrest comes after cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen gun were found at the Indian Oaks apartment where the fatal shooting took place. Williams is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.
On Wednesday, Alabama authorities arrested 25-year-old Dennis Eason of Fort Valley. There was a warrant issued for terroristic threats in connection to the killing of Anderson.
