UPDATE: Stabbing at Riverside Drive hotel leaves man dead

Bibb deputies say the 33-year-old man was stabbed during a verbal altercation Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: A man who was stabbed Thursday at a Macon hotel has died.

According to Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones. 33-year-old Michael Foster was pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent at 4:48 p.m. Jones says his family has been notified.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed Thursday afternoon at the Macon Inn on Riverside Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said the stabbing was reported to the Macon-Bibb E911 Center just after 3:30 p.m.

Deputies responded to the hotel after receiving a report of a person stabbed during a verbal altercation.

When deputies got there, they found a man with a stab wound. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
