MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will push 100 degrees across Middle Georgia again Wednesday as rain chances remain very low.

This Evening

It’s been a hot afternoon across Middle Georgia with all but the northern reaches of the region currently included in a Heat Advisory until 8 PM tonight. Rain odds will remain negligible through this evening and the overnight hours. Humidity has dropped a bit around the region thanks to a weak front arriving late overnight last night/early this morning. Temperatures will remain above average though with lows expected in the low to mid 70s. The wind will continue to lightly flow from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow

Wednesday should be partly to mostly sunny with high temperatures in the upper 90s and low triple digits. If there is any good news it’s that the aforementioned overnight front has dropped humidity which should translate to lower heat index values (only a couple of degrees above the actual temps). The wind will be light out of the northwest and rain is not expected save for a stray shower or two.

Overnight will be mostly clear with temperatures again reaching their valleys in the low to mid 70s. The wind will be light out of the west-southwest.

Thursday and Beyond

Another hot day is likely Thursday with low rain odds however the humidity will begin to uptick again thanks to the wind direction returning to out of the southwest. This will set the stage for the arrival of a cold front on Friday that will bring some storm chances Friday afternoon and likely some Saturday as well. This front should also drop temperatures at least a few degrees for the coming weekend and early next week.
