SCHOOL CLOSING: Possible norovirus outbreak closes Laurens County Schools

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A possible norovirus outbreak is closing all Laurens County Schools for all teachers and staff for tomorrow, Friday, April 24th, 2015. The Board of Education Office will be closed as well.

According to a news release from the school district, they plan to use the time to completely sanitize the schools. District leaders expect classes to resume on Monday, April 27th.

“Norovirus is a very contagious virus that can infect anyone. You can get it from an infected person, contaminated food or water, or by touching contaminated surfaces. The virus causes your stomach or intestines or both to get inflamed. This leads you to have stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea and to throw up,” according to the CDC.
