Cold front to bring thunderstorms Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming cold front from the west will bring an elevated opportunity for thunderstorms around Middle Georgia Wednesday afternoon/evening and possibly Thursday as well.
This Evening
Overcast skies are likely to linger around Middle Georgia through the evening and tonight. Expect a warm night with low temperatures in the mid 60s across the region accompanied by east-southeast winds of 6-12 mph. Gusts will likely continue to push 20 mph throughout much of the night.
Tomorrow
Some rain showers are likely to move in during the sunrise on Wednesday a bit ahead of the cold front. These showers should just be rain but a rumble of thunder or two cannot be ruled out.
It will be a cloudy day once again as things warm up into the upper 70s and lower 80s in the afternoon. The ambient wind will be rather pronounced from the south-southeast as gusts will likely push 25 mph throughout much of the day. Scattered showers and storms should fire up mid-afternoon as the cold front moves in. At this time severe weather is not expected however a wind gust of 40+ mph or two could be possible with the more organized storms.
Overnight a few showers or a storm may linger early before things calm down heading into Thursday morning. The wind is also expected to lighten up a bit as it flows from the south at 5-10 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
Cloudy skies will continue to linger on Thursday with a few showers or perhaps a storm in the afternoon as the cold front finishes its passage through Middle Georgia. A thin line of rain should indicate when the cold front is passing sometime Thursday evening.
While clouds are likely to stick around much of Friday as well conditions will clear up in the evening as a sunny and seasonal weekend is expected for the first full weekend of November.
