MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming slow moving cold front will bring scattered showers and storms starting Friday and lasting through the weekend.

This Evening

As expected today has been quiet in respect to rain chances however the temperatures aren’t terrible in the absence of the storms. This evening will be warm and muggy with temperatures reaching their valleys in the low to mid 70s across the region. The wind overnight will be light and variable. Fog is unlikely thanks to the reduced rain odds through the evening. A stray shower is possible though unlikely overnight.

Tomorrow

Cloud cover will be thicker for the final day of the work week however temperatures are still largely expected to reach the low to mid 90s. The wind will be light from the west-northwest around 5 mph. The odds for showers and storms will increase over the latter half of the day with peak chances likely during the suppertime hours.

Overnight more rain will be possible however the odds for thunder and lightning will be lower. Temperatures will valley in the low to mid 70s. Fog will be possible thanks to the increased moisture brought by the front and light wind from the southeast.

This Weekend

Rain odds will climb further Saturday as the front is draped across the Peach State. Sunday will also see decent rain odds however they should be a bit lower than Saturday. The added cloud cover and rain should keep temperatures down (relatively speaking) through the weekend before they surge into the upper 90s and low triple digits next week!
