NFL player gives back to the community

LAURENS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A familiar face stopped in Laurens County Friday morning.

Demaryius Thomas, wide receiver for the NFL’s Denver Broncos gave back to his community. Kids enjoyed playing some football, face-painting, bounce houses and some water games.

Thomas says he loves seeing the impression he makes on the youth and believes in giving back to the ones who has been there since the beginning.

“You know the respect that I do for Laurens County and what they done for me when I was coming up as a kid. What I wasn’t able to do as a kid, so I come back for the kids that are here now. So, they will have something to remember me by or just so they can have fun,” Thomas adds.

This is the first ‘Annual Bay Bay Fun Day’ for the community. Thomas says he will hold a football camp next year.
