Cloud cover lingers Thursday as rain chances drop again

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The cold front responsible for storms this afternoon and evening is expected to stall a bit tomorrow keeping cloud cover around.
This Evening
The main group of storms is moving through Middle Georgia late this afternoon. Once that clears the region it should just be some isolated showers remaining with the occasional rumble of thunder possible. Severe weather is not expected. It will be another muggy night with temperatures largely reaching their valleys in the upper 60s. The warmest spots could potentially remain at or above 70. Expect a light wind from the south through the overnight hours around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
The return of a bit of sunshine is likely in the afternoon hours tomorrow as things remain muggy. A few isolated showers will be possible during the day with the cold front likely to pass during the evening hours. There may be a thin line of rain tomorrow evening indicating this passage. The wind will begin to shift direction out of the west after the cold front moves through.
Expect things to remain cloudy and muggy tomorrow night even once that wind shift occurs. Lows will be in the mid 60s for most of the region again accompanied by west-southwest winds at 5-10 mph. A stray shower or two will be possible unless the aforementioned thin line has already moved through your area.
Friday and Beyond
Clouds are likely still going to hang around for much of the day on Friday as the wind shifts more to out of the west-northwest. No rain is expected outside of possibly a small shower early Friday morning. Temperatures should peak in the upper 70s for most of the region in the afternoon before cooling into the 40s by Saturday morning! Cloud cover overhead should clear out over the back half of the day on Friday leading to a clear night heading into the weekend. Conditions this weekend will be seasonal in the afternoon and below average during the overnight hours as some spots could see lows back in the 30s through the weekend.
