Motorcycle club honors Monroe fallen deputy Norris

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One middle Georgia motorcycle group is honoring a fallen Monroe County deputy who died in the line of duty in September.

The Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club added Deputy Michael Norris to its moving memorial wall. Hundreds of names of law enforcement officers line the wall. The club’s president, Edward Christian, says he feels like its his duty to tour the wall around the state.

“To see this wall where they are at that time was really important to them. Even stopping at gas stations, there’s a lot of names that impact everybody,” Christian said.

He says the Blue Knights and private donors maintain the wall. Deputy Norris’ family thanked the hundreds that have supported them since the incident.

Additionally, on April 25, 2015 the Central Georgia Chapter XII of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will lead a police escorted ride from Forsyth to the Atlanta Expo Center to participate in the 2015 Georgia Police Memorial Ride.
