Monroe County Road Department seeks residents to Adopt-A-Road
The Monroe County Road Department is looking for residents who are willing to “Adopt-A-Road”.
It’s part of a new county initiative to keep roads clean from litter.
The county says it usually contacts the Georgia Department of Corrections to provide inmate labor for trash pick-up. However, due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, the inmates are not available at this time.
Residents interested in participating can visit the Monroe County Road Department at 521 Montpelier Road. Bags will be distributed.
If you decide Adopt-A-Road, the Monroe County Road Department will put up signs at each end of that road to designate it as an official “adopted road.”
Adopted road participants will be recognized on the county’s website and Monroe County Board of Commissioners Facebook page if they submit a photo of themselves picking up trash to RDumas@monroecoga.org.
