MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Bike Walk Macon is bringing back its third annual Big Bike Ride on Saturday, November 7, to promote safer streets and celebrate the city’s cycling community.

The event will feature an 8-mile community ride through downtown, Midtown and along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, highlighting recent and upcoming transportation projects.

Registration and a kickoff party will take place at Rosa Parks Square from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The ride begins at 4 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m., followed by an after-party at Fall Line Brewing Co.

The annual fundraiser aims to raise awareness about the need for better bicycle infrastructure and more transportation options for residents.

Tickets are $10 per person in advance and increase to $15 on the day of the ride. Children younger than 12 can participate for free.

The after-party is open to the public and will provide an opportunity to learn more about ongoing efforts to expand the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.
