Man arrested for using counterfeit money in Milledgeville

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday for using counterfeit bills at several locations throughout the city.

Austin Daniel is charged with first degree forgery and additional drug charges.

In April, officers responded to a person using counterfeit bills at a drive thru establishment. According to a news release, one of the employees described detailed information of the male using the bill.

“The employee was able to provide detailed information of what the white male looked like and what he was driving,” Major Michael Hudson, said in the news release.

Minutes later, officers pulled over a car matching the employee’s description and found Daniel.

“During the investigation, an amount of marijuana and several counterfeit bills were located in the vehicle and on his person,” Hudson said.

Officers found about $270 in fake bills and Daniel was arrested on scene.

In addition to the forgery charge, Daniel is also charged with lying, conspiracy to sell marijuana, conspiracy to sell mushrooms, and conspiracy to sell Adderall.
