MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Middle Georgia teen is among 22 finalists nationwide in a phone case design contest sponsored by Cox Mobile in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

According to a news release, Tabias Williams, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia, was selected as a finalist in the second annual Cox Mobile Phone Case Design Contest. The competition invited high school club members across the country to create designs based on the theme “A World Within Reach – Future Icons.”

The release says Williams’ artwork showcases the “never give up attitude of business innovators.”

“This piece shows off a future leader changing the world,” Williams said in the release. “By mixing todays and the future elements, I’m showing how today’s dreams can become tomorrow’s big achievements. My work challenges viewers to think about their own potential to make a difference, reminding them that the future isn’t just something we wait for it’s something we can grab right now.”

Later this spring, a panel of judges will select a grand prize winner. Judges include leaders from Cox Communications and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, along with actor and television host Mario Lopez and the 2025–2026 National Youth of the Year.

The grand prize winner will receive a $25,000 scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant for their local club. In addition, the public can vote for a Fan Favorite winner, who will receive a $25,000 scholarship and a $10,000 technology grant for their club.

All finalists will be recognized by their local clubs during celebrations scheduled for February and will receive a connectivity prize package.

Fan Favorite voting is open now through February 28. The public can view all finalist designs and vote daily at cox.com/phonecasecontest.
