Macon crash among 12 deaths reported during Georgia holiday travel period
A 54-year-old woman and 9-year-old girl were killed in an I-75 crash as Georgia DPS reported 424 DUI arrests statewide during the first 72 hours of holiday patrols.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Georgia Department of Public Safety says 12 people have died in crashes statewide during the holiday travel period, including two people killed in a crash on I-75 North in Macon.
The agency also reports 424 DUI arrests, 790 distracted driving citations, and 1,090 seat belt citations during the holiday patrol period.
Two killed in I-75 crash in Macon
Georgia State Patrol says the fatal crash on I-75 North involved a Dodge Charger and a Ram 2500 pickup truck.
According to preliminary details from GSP, the crash happened around 5:09 p.m. Sunday near Rocky Creek Road.
GSP says the Dodge Charger sideswiped the Ram 2500 before leaving the road to the right and overturning.
According to GSP, the driver of the Dodge Charger and a juvenile passenger died at the scene.
Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says the two people killed were a 54-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl.
The crash remains under investigation.
Twelve deaths reported statewide
Georgia DPS reports 12 traffic fatalities statewide during the holiday period.
Eight of the deaths came from seven crashes investigated by Georgia State Patrol troopers.
The 12 deaths were reported across 10 crashes.
