Macon Chamber of Commerce host economic update forum
The economic impact from movies filmed in Macon like, “42 and Need for Speed” were substantial for Middle Georgia, according to Deputy Commissioner for Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment, Lee Thomas.
Thomas addressed business leaders during the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Macon at the Douglas Theater, Tuesday.
“Film is relatively a new opportunity for us in Macon and hearing about and learning about it I think was really informative,” says the President of the Macon Economic Development Commission, Mike Dryer.
Georgia Department of Economic Development representatives also gave updates on the financial impact of tourism and industry in Macon.
