Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority under new leadership after Whitby resigns

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority is moving forward under new leadership after former chairman, Cliffard Whitby, resigned earlier this week.

The Industrial Authority’s Board of Directors appointed Robert Fountain, who was acting as chairman, as the permanent chairman during a meeting Wednesday. The board also named Stephen Adams the acting executive director. Adams was formerly the project manager.

“My initial reaction is excitement and overwhelmed a little bit, there’s a lot of work to be done here,” Adams said after the announcement.

Whitby is accused of bribing the former Bibb County Superintendent, Romain Dallemand.
