FVSU overcomes 17-point halftime deficit to beat Lane 50-38
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Lane College quarterback Marcus Reynolds rushed for more than 261 yards and three touchdowns Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Dragons over Fort Valley State in the conference opener for both teams.
Lane (1-1, 0-1 SIAC) led 24-7 at halftime and added another score and two-point conversion on its first drive of the second half to take a 32-7 lead.
But the Wildcats (1-1, 1-0 SIAC) bounced back, scoring on four straight drives to take a 36-32 lead into the fourth quarter. They held on to win 50-38.
Otis Brown led the way offensively for FVSU, completing 11-of-18 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. The sophomore added a pair of touchdowns on the ground. He finished with 95 yards on 13 carries.
The Wildcats visit Clark Atlanta Saturday, September 19. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
