Elderly woman kidnapped and robbed in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An elderly woman told authorities a man armed with a knife was waiting for her at her home, according to a Houston County Sheriff’s office news release.

Deputies arrested Jonas Hopkins, who lives on Sandy Run Road in Bonaire. Hopkins is charged with armed robbery, burglary, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

The incident happened Tuesday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

According to the 68-year-old woman, the assailant robbed her of cash and electronics. The suspect then threatened her with a knife and forced her to drive him to a place where he made his getaway on foot.

Hopkins is being held at the Houston County Detention Center without bond.
