Delta State too much for Fort Valley State, Wildcats fall 56-13

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State scored first in its season opener Saturday but didn’t score again until the fourth quarter.

Delta State (1-0, 0-0 Gulf South Conference) relied on its hurry up, no huddle offense to pummel the Wildcats 56-13 on a sweltering day in the Valley. 

FVSU (0-1, 0-0 SIAC) took a 6-0 lead on its opening drive after a 1-yard run by Malcolm Eady.  The Statesmen answered with three straight touchdowns to put the game away by the end of the first quarter.

The Wildcats travel to Savannah State (0-2, 0-0 MEAC) Saturday.  Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
