Deals signs H.B. 896, Rep. Beverly begins plans to move forward

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A recent house bill was passed allowing officials to use foreign money to clean up blighted areas in Middle Georgia.

Representative James Beverly (D-143) created H.B. 896, Macon-Bibb County Community Enhancement Authority, to use the extra money for community developments to ultimately reduce poverty.

Dozens gathered at the Middle Georgia Airport to witness Deal signing the bill.

Rep. James says it was time for someone to do something to make the community a better place for everyone.

“If you can get money from foreign investors who want to come to this country, create jobs… use that as a synergistic approach to approaching eliminating blight, says Rep. Beverly.”

Beverly says he has two foreign investors interested in contributing, and plans to make small deals hoping to attract the state and federal government.
