Coliseum Medical Centers use da Vinci Robot for 2,000th time
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Coliseum Medical Center has completed the 2,000th surgery using the hospital’s da Vinci Robot on Monday, according to Jennifer Jones, the hospital’s Marketing Manager of Community Relations.
“The robot is used to assist in various types of surgeries, including hysterectomies, appendectomies, take down and closures of colostomies,” explained Jones.

Surgeons used the da Vinci robot to perform minimally invasive surgery, she continued.
“Robotic surgery is performed using a few small incisions, rather than a large incision site with traditional surgery,” says Jones. “We are the leader in robotic surgery in this area.”
Coliseum Medical Center is the only facility in Middle Georgia that offers numerous specialty robotic surgeries with the latest technology, she added.
