Cochran to hold Tuesday meetings on home repair assistance
The sessions begin at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the City Auditorium and will explain eligibility for help with qualifying home repairs.

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The City of Cochran will hold two public meetings Tuesday for homeowners interested in housing rehabilitation assistance through the city’s 2026 Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) grant.
The meetings will be held at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the City Auditorium, located at 102 N. Second St. Both meetings will cover the same information.
The city says the program is for people with low or moderate incomes who own and live in homes that need improvements. Eligible work may include repairs to roofs, windows, flooring, heating and air conditioning systems and plumbing.
City officials will explain the program and how homeowners may qualify for assistance.
According to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, CHIP is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program.
The program provides funding to local governments, public housing authorities and nonprofit organizations to rehabilitate owner-occupied homes and build or renovate affordable single-family homes.
DCA says CHIP does not provide assistance directly to individual homeowners. Homeowners seeking help with repairs should contact their local government about available housing programs.
