UPDATE: Suspect arrested after Circle K shooting, SWAT response
Deputies say Delmar Tavaris Eugene Black was taken into custody after a short chase and SWAT response on Harrison Road.

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 35-year-old man accused in a shooting that injured a woman Sunday afternoon outside a Circle K on Mercer University Drive.
Deputies identified the suspect as Delmar Tavaris Eugene Black.
The sheriff’s office says deputies determined the suspect, who was wearing a yellow T-shirt and dark pants, fled the shooting scene in a silver Buick Enclave.
Deputies later found a silver Buick Enclave around 7:35 p.m. at the Marathon gas station at 5013 Harrison Road. The sheriff’s office says a man matching the suspect’s description was inside the vehicle.
As deputies approached, the sheriff’s office says Black showed a firearm, ignored commands to stop and drop the weapon, then drove away.
Deputies say they chased Black for a short distance and immobilized the vehicle on Harrison Road south of Chambers Road.
The sheriff’s office says Black refused to get out of the vehicle and fired shots from inside. The SWAT Team, E.O.D. Unit and negotiators responded.
Deputies say SWAT members took Black into custody at 9:09 p.m. The firearm was recovered.
Paramedics treated Black for injuries sustained during his apprehension.
The woman shot outside the Circle K remains in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A woman is in critical condition after Bibb County deputies say she was shot in a Circle K parking lot and then struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened at the Circle K at 3391 Mercer University Drive.
It was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 5:33 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office says the woman had been involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown man before she was shot in the parking lot.
Deputies say the woman ran from the suspect and was then struck by a vehicle traveling west on Mercer University Drive.
She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The sheriff’s office says the shooting remains under investigation.
