Central Georgia Technical College on top technical colleges list
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) was ranked number 23 on the list of top technical colleges in the nation by the Military Times.
The school was recognized for its commitment to providing help and education to veterans.
Janet Kelly, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services, said CGTC truly cares about its military students.
The college helps veterans by providing application waivers, veteran affairs services for financial aid, and working with organizations, like the Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center in Warner Robins, to help veterans transition into civilian life.
“It’s definitely something that’s needed as far as how to transition out of the military life and into the civilian life and how to translate the skills that you learned in the military into work force skills that you can put on a resume and gain a job with,” Kelly said.
Central Georgia Technical College served more than 12,000 veteran students last year through VECTR.
