Shoplifting call leads to U-Haul chase in Macon
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says Chaze Fleming and Christopher Scott Terrell were arrested after a brief chase Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people were arrested after a shoplifting call led Bibb County deputies on a brief chase involving a U-Haul truck, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says the shoplifting happened on Friday.
According to the sheriff’s office, a man went into a store, stole merchandise and left in a U-Haul truck.
Deputies spotted the truck shortly after the shoplifting and forced it to stop after a brief chase, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office says the driver, later identified as Chaze Fleming, ran but was caught by deputies after a foot chase.
The passenger, Christopher Scott Terrell, who deputies believe was an accomplice, was also taken into custody.
Fleming is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer, felony fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, conspiracy to commit a felony, felony theft by shoplifting, aggressive driving, driving with a suspended license and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
Terrell is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and theft by shoplifting.
The sheriff’s office says the two are suspected of other thefts throughout the county, and additional charges are pending further investigation.
