Band of the Week: Rutland High School
This week’s 41NBC Band of the Week spotlight shines on Rutland High School Marching Hurricanes.
Band Director Corey Bronson says this year’s band is especially young, with many new members joining the program. While the group is still growing together, Bronson says having new students is a positive thing as they continue to build the program.
The band also has a major opportunity on the horizon: a parade in Hawaii. The students are continuing to raise money to help make the trip possible and are still accepting donations from community members who would like to support the band.
On the field, the band will bring the music of Prince to life with this year’s show. The performance will feature “I Would Die 4 U” and “Purple Rain,” giving students the opportunity to showcase their talent through two iconic songs.
