‘Opportunity of a lifetime’: Baldwin Schools Superintendent Dr. Noris Price announces retirement
Dr. Price will continue in her role until the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Dr. Noris Price, Superintendent of the Baldwin County School District, announced her retirement effective June 30, 2025, during the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday. This will conclude her 40-year career in education, including a decade leading the Baldwin County School District.
“It has been an honor to serve as superintendent of the Baldwin County School District,” Dr. Price said. “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and confident that the district will continue to pursue its mission and vision for student success and thrive for years to come. “Being part of this wonderful organization and community has been incredibly fulfilling. I will always cherish the memories we have created and the milestones we have reached together. Thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime!”
Dr. Price has served as superintendent since July 2014, implementing initiatives that improved student performance and increased the high school graduation rate from 66% to 89%. Her tenure also saw an expansion of student services, including a school-based health clinic, food pantries and mental health services. Additionally, she secured more than $12 million in grant funds for the district.
Under her leadership, the district expanded its academic offerings, including the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Programme and the development of a Montessori program. The district also expanded arts and athletics programming, providing students with a well-rounded education.
Dr. Price was recognized as the 2022 Georgia Superintendent of the Year and was also a finalist for National Superintendent of the Year. In 2023, the Board of Education was named 2023 Governance Team of the Year, and it has been recognized as an Exemplary Board for the past seven years. Financially, the Board has maintained a healthy fund balance and earned stellar reports from annual state audits with no findings, according to the District.
Dr. Price, who has served as an elementary school teacher, assistant principal, principal, associate superintendent, deputy superintendent and adjunct professor, currently serves as President of the Georgia State Superintendents Association.
