Macon Symphony Orchestra Partners with Beulahland Bible Choir’s for “Sounds of the Season” Concert

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Beulahland Bible Church’s Youth with Voices, and Chosen Generation youth choirs are getting ready for a historic performance.

The groups are combining for the first time, thanks in part, to Beulahland’s minister of Music Jay Terrel. He reached out to the orchestra to bring his kids a new experience.

MSYO Conductor, Jonathan Baker, was more than happy to help make it happen.

“It’s been an incredible experience to say the least, to see their excitement learning about different composers and different styles,” said Baker.

The kids love it, too. Choir member, Jayla Gundy says it’s been a great experience for her, and she’s learned a lot along the way.

“The hardest part is learning the songs. I don’t know some of them, but I just think in my mind, I know I can do it,” said Gundy.

Gundy is part of the “Chosen Generation Choir.” It’s members are on the younger side, between 3 and 12-years old.

Director of Chosen Generation, Takila Booze, said the rehearsals have been both rewarding and challenging.

“It’s chaotic, but they’ll surprise me the day of the show and just blow my mind because they are more prepared than I thought they were,” said Booze.

The show takes  place on Saturday, December 14th at Beulahland Bible Church in Macon. It’s located at 1010 Newburg Avenue. The free concert starts at 5pm.
