Stratford-FPD rivalry is The End Zone’s Week 7 Game of the Week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Stratford and First Presbyterian Day renew a rivalry separated by just one win in the all-time series Friday, September 25, in The End Zone’s Week 7 Game of the Week.
Sports anchor Rob Schiff and Chief Meteorologist Aaron Lowery will report live from FPD during 41NBC News at 5, 5:30 and 6.
Then, watch The End Zone during 41NBC News at 11 for highlights from six games, all region matchups. Bill Shanks will anchor the coverage from the studio, Tucker Sargent will join him with highlights from Northside at Veterans and Rob will report back from Stratford at FPD.
Game of the Week: Stratford at FPD
Stratford brings a 4-1 record into Friday’s game after beating Westfield 49-14 last week. Head coach Paul Carroll’s Eagles lead the all-time series against FPD 25-24-1.
The Vikings have won the past three meetings, including a 21-10 victory last season, and can even the series with another win Friday.
FPD enters at 4-2 after a 22-13 loss to Frederica Academy. Head coach Brett Collier’s defense has recorded two shutouts this season.
Dublin at Bleckley County
Two teams coming off an open week meet at Royals Stadium in Cochran for their Region 2-AA opener.
Roger Holmes’ Dublin Fighting Irish are 3-1 and have outscored opponents 120-47. Dublin won last year’s meeting 42-19 and holds an 18-2 advantage in the series.
Von Lassiter’s Bleckley County Royals are unbeaten at 4-0, allowing just 36 points while averaging 34.8 points per game. Their most recent win over Dublin came in 2023.
Twiggs County at Wilkinson County
Twiggs County and Wilkinson County both enter their Region 5-A opener at 1-3 after an open week.
The Cobras are seeking their first win over Wilkinson County since 2016. The Warriors have won nine straight meetings and lead the all-time series 20-10.
Baldwin at Westside
Baldwin and Westside will try to rebound from losses in their Region 2-AAAA openers when they meet at Ed DeFore Sports Complex.
Kevin Patterson’s Baldwin Braves fell to 3-1 after a 49-43 loss to Howard. James Harris’ Westside Seminoles are 2-2 after losing to Mary Persons 38-2.
This will be their first meeting since 2023. Westside leads the series 8-6.
Tattnall at Mount de Sales
Another Macon rivalry takes center stage at Mike Garvin Stadium as Tattnall visits Mount de Sales for a region opener.
Barney Hester’s Trojans are 3-3 after beating Crawford County 42-13. Robert Slocum’s Cavaliers enter at 5-1 following their first loss of the season, a 24-3 defeat against Edmund Burke.
Tattnall leads the all-time series 37-11, but Mount de Sales won last year’s game 10-0.
Northside at Veterans
Northside and Veterans open Region 2-6A play at Freedom Field.
Daniel “Boone” Williams’ Northside Eagles are 2-2 after an open week. Steven Devoursney’s Veterans Warhawks improved to 3-1 with a 21-15 win over Sumter County.
Northside leads the series 6-2 and won last season’s meeting 36-22.
