MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Chargers put on the pads Monday afternoon as the Central High School football team strives for better results on the field in 2026.

Head Coach Jamoski Ward is entering his first season with the Chargers after two years at Wilkinson County High School. Ward began the process with his squad back in January, and now the team finds itself just three and a half weeks away from lining up against Greenville to open up the 2026 regular season.

“We’re trying to get better every day, and we’re trying to get better every rep,” Ward said. “I’m really enjoying seeing the kids come out here and perform every day and I’m really excited about the season.”

“I’m just working harder than I’ve ever worked before,” Junior safety WyQuavis Gaither added.
