Macon Water Ice wins second straight Downtown Macon French Fry Fight

The restaurant’s Pineapple Mango Salmon Fries received the most votes among dishes from 22 participating downtown restaurants.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon Water Ice has won the Downtown Macon French Fry Fight for the second consecutive year, according to NewTown Macon.

The restaurant received the most votes for its Pineapple Mango Salmon Fries, earning the Super Spud Trophy.

The winning dish featured seasoned fries topped with fresh-cut pineapple and mango, salmon, broccoli, grilled onions, peppers, American cheese and pineapple-mango sauce.

Twenty-two restaurants participated in the fifth annual contest, held July 8-10. NewTown Macon says several downtown businesses reported lines of customers during the three-day competition.

Macon Water Ice also won the 2025 French Fry Fight with its Buffalo Mac Fries.

NewTown Macon says its Summer Snaps rewards program continues through July 31. Shoppers who submit five receipts from downtown businesses can receive 20% of their combined purchase total, up to $50, as a gift card to the downtown business of their choice.
