Deputies: 15-year-old driver in custody after 110 mph chase in Jones County
Deputies say the pursuit reached speeds of more than 110 miles per hour before ending with a PIT maneuver.

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A traffic stop in Gray early Monday morning turned into a high-speed chase involving a juvenile driver.
According to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, around 2:30 a.m., an officer with the Gray Police Department tried to stop a black Nissan Sentra on Atlanta Road near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Deputies say the driver refused to stop and fled, leading officers and Jones County deputies on a pursuit that lasted several miles.
During the chase, speeds exceeded 110 miles per hour at times. The chase ended around 3:15 a.m. on Joycliff Road when a Jones County deputy performed a PIT maneuver that stopped the vehicle.
Dashcam video of the chase was posted on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
Deputies say they gave repeated verbal commands for the driver to show their hands and exit the vehicle. Investigators say the driver refused to comply and made frantic movements inside the car, which raised safety concerns. The driver tried to flee again but was unable to do so.
The driver was removed from the vehicle and continued to resist before being taken into custody and secured in a patrol vehicle, according to deputies.
Deputies later confirmed the driver was 15 years old and that the vehicle involved in the chase had been reported stolen.
No serious injuries were reported.
