Byron man indicted for trafficking 13-year-old girl in Houston County, AG says
Demaria Williams is the fourth person indicted in connection with the same victim.
HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Byron man has been indicted in Houston County for purchasing a 13-year-old girl for sex, according to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr.
According to a news release, 35-year-old Demaria Williams was indicted on Tuesday on one count of statutory rape and one count of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude.
Carr’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit presented the case to a Houston County Grand Jury.
Carr’s office launched an investigation after the victim revealed she had been sold for sex in Warner Robins. Carr’s team initially secured indictments in December 2024 against three others — Emma Garcia, Noe Hernandez and Brian Smith — in connection with the same victim.
The Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit continued its investigation following the initial charges. Chief Investigator Bryan Kimbell later identified Williams as an additional suspect, according to the release.
Williams was arrested on April 25 with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, Warner Robins Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
