Clouds and rain return over the weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new low pressure system will bring more clouds and scattered showers to Middle Georgia this weekend.

A mostly sunny afternoon will see more clouds begin to move in through the sunset hours. It will be a much warmer night courtesy of a shift in wind direction earlier today. Conditions are pretty warm for First Friday as temperatures will largely stay in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Lows will largely be in the lower 50s rolling into the start of Saturday. Wind will continue from the southwest at 6-12 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph.

Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with plenty of warmth expected through the afternoon. Upper 70s are largely anticipated for the highs, however a couple spots may reach into the lower 80s. A spotty shower or two will be possible over the later parts of the day. The wind will also be breezy from the west as it rolls in from the west at 4-12 mph.

Overnight is when rain chances will climb more, especially leading into Sunday morning. Temperatures overnight will only fall into the upper 40s and lower 50s as the wind flows from the north-northeast at 5-10 mph. Don’t forget to set the clocks forward as Daylight Savings begins on Sunday.

Sunday will be a much cooler day with highs only climbing into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Rain will be pretty widespread, starting off as scattered showers but becoming more solidified everywhere heading into the evening and overnight. Rain will likely linger into Monday, possibly not clearing out until Monday afternoon. Sunshine will likely not make a return until Tuesday.
